The Robo-Mate project focuses on the development of the core exoskeleton. The initial set of tools demonstrate and disseminate the concept in various possible exploitation markets. The core exoskeleton and the required tools and sensors are defined by the requirements of the application field.
The exoskeleton can also be adapted to the needs of industries other than mechanical industries, such as in logistics and food. It can be customized for transition phases that are traditionally human-intensive and not automated, for example when miscellaneous goods - engine parts, whole cheeses and PC parts - are moved close to the automation line.

However, these proposed fields are more a general overview of possible scenarios. The goal of Robo-Mate is to develop an exoskeleton which can be used for a wide field of different applications. Robo-Mate can provide the following abilities.
- Force support for handling goods up to 15 kg
- Postural support
- Precision and support ( e.g. welding)
- Information support of the worker with see-through display
The main goal is to reduce the compression on the human body.
